As a local Registered Nurse and Mom, I know the challenges that parents face in Canada. I created this program because of the challenges I personally faced, as well as what I saw happen to new parents around me.  Providing services online creates accessibility to new parents that otherwise would be very difficult to obtain for those in rural areas, as well as busy people who need more options.

I am a Mom to a very busy boy and a tireless dog, a wife, and have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with more than 7 years of relevant experience. I have worked in Labour and Delivery, Community Health in Northern Outpost, and in Emergency. In order to use my title as a Registered Nurse, my company has undergone a detailed review by the New Brunswick Nursing Association. This means this practice must adhere to the Canadian Nursing Code of Ethics and the New Brunswick Standards of Nursing Practice for all prenatal healthcare provided to the public. Beyond The Bump Education is also fully insured to operate within Canada.

Beyond The Bump

With my experiences in communities across the country and abroad, I saw a growing need for a change in how we approach prenatal education. So, I created Beyond The Bump™ Education. I started my career with a volunteer position with an organization that works with impoverished Dominican people and Haitian refugee communities. During a mother-child clinic I was coordinating, we met a little boy who was only 6lbs 2oz at nearly 3 months old. Jameson quickly became the reason I was there. We brought him to the hospital and found he was severely anemic and allergic to the formula he was being given. I spent months going to their village to give him medication and teaching his mother (as I learned Spanish). Jameson grew quickly and is now 7 years old!! Because of him, a new prenatal program in their community was developed and has graduated hundreds of women through it. My experience with Jameson is what defined my passion for educating parents about the health and well-being of our children.

This experience, along with my own pregnancy, is my motivator for this dream of mine to come alive. I love to teach, and I firmly believe that all parents should have access to reliable information. That way, they can make educated choices for themselves and their children.
